COACHING

Training for horse and rider is available at Thundry Farm with resident
British Showjumping Accredited Level III Coach Christine Shubrook.

Christine is also a NLP Practitioner for Sport, a Centre10 Accredited Coach and was chosen to be part of the National Development Program for Coaching Excellence. She has a keen interest in biomechanical influences on horse and rider and attends CPD clinics. This demonstrates her commitment to coaching ridden skills, mind-set skills and keeping informed with new developments in the coaching world.

Lizzie Murray visits every month or so for dressage training.

Thundry provides excellent training facilities with a 25m X 50m indoor school and a jump field, on sandy soil, with a full set of jumps.

Training is open to both livery clients and visiting clients and can be provided via private sessions or shared sessions (2-3 people).

Complete Gold Livery clients receive a weekly complementary training session from Christine and very good rates for addtional sessions.
Bronze & Sliver clients also recieve discounted rates.

Showjump Coaching - Background

Corinne Bracken worked for Thundry Farm for over 20 years as the professional rider and trainer. During that time Christine was Corinne’s ground person and together they developed young horses. As Corinne’s talent for riding developed she and Christine attended clinics presented by many international riders and their enthusiasm and knowledge of training increased. Corinne is a BS Accredited Coach, has been a sucessful Junior & Young Rider Teams Chef d’Equipe and was awarded BSJA Coach of the year 2007.

In 2007 Christine, encoraged by Corinne, decided to gain the qualifications to recognise her own talents as a coach and has qualified as a UKCC level 3 (showjump specific) coach. Clients recognise that Christine has an ability to encourage the rider to develop their own skills, whilst providing informative instruction to help them train their horses.

Christine believes that riders and horses should be confident and enjoy their sessions in order to reach their goals. This is achieved by a calm and methodical approach to your training needs, to be challenged not overwhelmed, to increase your skill set and understanding.

As a keen amateur she has jumped up to 1.20m internationally and produced her own horses from unbroken. She also has lost her confidence and knows how it is to fit in a 'day job' around the commitment that riding in the ring requires. This background puts her in an unique position of having an understanding and empathy with amateur riders.

Christine is available, to livery clients throughout the day. Coaching of outside clients is restricted to afternoons and early evening, wednesday - Sunday.

Complete Gold Livery Clients receive one complementary coaching session a week, and greatly reduced cost for coaching out of hours and extra sessions. Sliver & Bronze livery clients benefit from a reduction in costs for coaching session also.

Residential Training Programmes

If you want to have an intensive training programme over a few days or base yourself with us for a bit longer then this can be arranged to suit your goals and requirements.

A variety of clinics are arranged, which in general include flat work, grid work and jumping a course. Each clinic is different so that they do not become repetitive.
The dates of these clinics are e-mailed to clients on our
mailing list.

Dressage Training

Training is provided on a 1-2-1 basis in 45 minute sessions by Lizzie Murray. Lizzie is a great trainer for pure dressage or flatwork to improve your jumping. She is very approachable and accommodating for horses for which dressage wouldn’t be their first choice! She was Dressage Coach to the Eventing Equine Pathway and National Squad, and has been involved with some part of the training of at least 4 of the horses at the World Equestrian Games.

To book a training session call Christine on 01252 72552 or email thundry@thundry.co.uk.
